Learn about the three dangerous conditions You can prevent to keep your furry friend healthy

Pyometra

(Spaying is the only solution)

Pyometra is an infection of the uterus where this organ fills with pus turning into a huge abscess inside the body that would cause the death of the Pet if surgery were not performed. Pyometra is a life-threatening condition to be addressed as an emergency where the surgery alone would be twice or more the price of a regular spay, not to mention common additional expenses for diagnostics, hospitalization support, and monitoring before and after the surgery. Keeping an intact female older than 1.5 years old is strongly discouraged.

Heart Worm Disease

(Understanding and compliance)

HWD is a terrible condition that is complex and expensive to treat however, it is easy and inexpensive to help prevent. Back in the day, it was not uncommon to see severe cases of HWD and dogs dying because of it. Nowadays most of the few cases detected show no symptoms at the time of diagnosis. The Heart Worm Test and the Heart Worm Prevention together has helped us put this terrible disease under control. But....

It is still out there.

Obesity

(Spoil with love)

Wild canines and felines exercise tremendously for two main purposes, feeding and reproduction. Pets, however, depends on the owner’s decision about exercising and food, not to mention a passive reproduction, if any. It is challenging to provide our loved Pets with the right equilibrium between food and activity. The result is sometimes an overweight condition leading to obesity, a silent disease that brings early joint problems, respiratory issues, metabolic conditions, and GI disturbances. An obese patient is also considered a higher risk surgery.

We should learn an equilibrium between health and the happiness that eating provides. Spoil with love and teach some discipline when it comes to food; your furry friend would say Thank You!
